CAM-FMEN
At
the very beginning of the 21st century (4 May 2004), the members of
the Department of Mathematics and Informatics were highly motivated to
contribute to the development of mathematical sciences at the University of Niš
and, especially, to their applications at the Faculty of Mechanical
Engineering. We have found that organizing appropriate seminars for
mathematical sciences and applied mathematical sciences is quite good for this
purpose. Within CAM-FMEN the following seminars are held actively:
- Special Functions and Transforms with Applications in Science and Engineering;
Apart from professors and teaching assistants
CAM-FMEN activities are also performed by students, young researchers, and
external partners. We are lecturers, a careful
audience, and active participants at the same time.
- CAM-FMEN members have presented their scientific
results as invited speakers at renowned foreign universities (Austria, Ireland,
Israel, Iran, Germany, Portugal, USA, Sweden).
Distinguished
lecturers from other faculties of the University of Niš, universities
and scientific institutions from the country (University of Belgrade,
University of Novi Sad, SASA Mathematical Institute Belgrade) and
abroad (Australia, Austria, Benin, China, France, Germany, Italy,
Japan, New Zealand, Sweden) have given lectures within CAM-FMEN and its
seminars.
By presenting their research results and
emphasizing the existing and future applications, these guest lecturers have,
among other things, provided an opportunity to all the interested members of
the institution to discern the possible directions for cooperation in
multidisciplinary fields.
In the upcoming period, among other things,
CAM-FMEN is planning the following activities:
- The organizations of the international scientific conferences, a series of international webinars/workshops;
- The preparation for the application for domestic and international scientific projects;
- The
endorsement of a more significant participation of members in the
application of mathematics in all scientific and professional fields
that are developed and studied at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
in Niš.
